Primary purpose of the Traveling Director of Nursing position:
Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of our Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, ensure that the highest degree of quality of care is maintained at all times.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and implements the facility s clinical program; Collaborates with the facility s interdisciplinary team to maintain restorative care standards; Ensures the nursing program complies with applicable state and federal law. Maintains knowledge base of current standards of nursing practices, implements nursing policies, procedures, and programs. Supports the admissions process by meeting with new residents and families; Participates in assessments, care plan development, and discharge planning. Assists with staff recruitment. Completes clinical team's performance reviews. Guides and educates clinical teams about their performance. Supervise and ensure all infection control precautions are maintained. Adheres to the department budget to promote appropriate utilization of resources. Adjusts the staffing hours based on acuity, census, care plans and establishes staffing patterns. Directs the hiring, evaluation, counseling, and termination of nursing department associates while following human resources standards and affirmative action laws. Ensures that clinical staff development programs are in place to meet regulatory, clinical and staff needs. Fosters a culture of quality assurance performance improvement (QAPI). Responsible for resident and family satisfaction, staff engagement, safety, and risk management as well as clinical quality measures. Responsible for managing survey, conduct investigations and fill all reports as required.
Required:
* At least two years DON supervisory experience required

Essential:
* CPR Basic or Advanced Life Support
* RN- Licensed Registered Nurse in State of Ohio
