Kingston Residence of Sylvania COVID-19 Update, April 23

At Kingston Residence of Sylvania, the safety and wellbeing of our residents and staff is our top priority. We are saddened to report we have received confirmation that 2 residents and 1 staff member at our building has tested positive for COVID-19. In addition, 1 resident is 'probable'.

We are following all required protocols to isolate and monitor these residents , and we are in contact with families of all residents. Staff who test positive for COVID-19 are required to quarantine before being assessed to return to work.

If any other resident shows symptoms related to COVID-19 we will be in immediate contact with the family by phone to discuss our care protocols. Any other updates regarding COVID-19 at our building will be posted on our website. We will do our very best to update our site with timely information.

Kingston Residence of Sylvania has prepared for this possibility. State and county officials continue to assure us that we are taking all appropriate measures to report and contain further spread of COVID-19. Given the high risk to the population that we serve, we have adopted a number of measures designed to protect our residents and staff. These include:

  • A no visitor policy
  • Health assessments and temperature readings of staff and residents
  • Isolating residents with symptoms
  • Protective masks are worn by residents and and care staff during any visitation
  • Sending staff with symptoms home to quarantine
  • COVID-19 testing is being requested and administered for residents and staff with symptoms

We appreciate your understanding if we are not able to respond immediately to inquiries while our staff is fully committed to investing as much time as possible toward ensuring everyone under our roof is safe and the families of those immediately affected remain updated.
