October 13 Update, Kingston of Miamisburg Outdoor Visitation

October 13, 2020

Kingston of Miamisburg COVID-19 Update

All Residents, Families, Responsible Parties and Loved Ones: The State of Ohio released the Fifth Amended Director’s Order to Limit Access to Ohio’s Nursing Homes and Similar Facilities, with Exceptions on October 9th, 2020 with an effective date of October 12th, 2020. According to the Order, Homes shall evaluate all the following as a part of developing a comprehensive plan to facilitate, implement, and oversee visitation:

1. Case status in surrounding community;

2. Case status in the nursing home(s);

3. Staffing levels;

4. Access to adequate testing for residents and staff;

5. Personal protective equipment supplies; and

6. Local hospital capacity.

In our previous letter, we provided a summary of the Federal guidance including: Facilities should support indoor visitation based on the following guidelines:

  • There has not been a new onset of COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days and the facility is not currently conducting outbreak testing.

In consideration of #1 and #2 in the State of Ohio Order and the Federal Guidance, we look forward to welcoming family and friends back to Kingston when the Ohio Public Health Advisory System Level in Montgomery county is below Red level and there have been no new COVID-19 positive cases for residents or staff for 14 days. Additional detailed information on the process for visitation will be provided once an opening date is set.

We encourage you to continue to stay connected with your loved one through window visits, phone calls, FaceTime, etc.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely, Kara Jones, LNHA
