Kingston Residence of Marion is proud to announce and welcome Dan Hellinger as a full-time Certified Nurse Practitioner. Hellinger’s primary responsibility is to ensure the maintenance of high standards of resident care by expanding access to advanced medical procedures including assessment, treatment, medication and therapy. On a day to day basis he will be responsible for assessing any health concern, change of condition or urgent need residents may have. Hellinger may write orders for medication, lab tests, treatments or therapy if needed. He will communicate frequently with residents’ primary care or specialty physicians and family members.
Hellinger states, “My goal is to assist the residents at Kingston with preventative, acute and health maintenance care in conjunction with the Resident’s primary care physician of choice.”
Mr. Hellinger was already a member of the Kingston Healthcare Team at their Skilled Nursing Facility located in Ashland, Ohio where he was the Director of Nursing. In 2013, Hellinger graduated from Otterbein University’s Master’s program where he obtained his Post – Masters Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner. He served active duty in the United States Army from 1982-1986. From 1986-1989, Hellinger continued serving his country in the US Reserves as a E-5/SGT Dental Specialist, and after returning to school, he reenlisted in the US Reserves from 2009-2012 as a lieutenant in a combat support hospital. In 1987, Hellinger started his nursing career graduating from the Tri-Rivers School of Practical Nursing. In 1994, he graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and in 2008, a dual Degree with a Masters of Nursing and Masters in Health Administration. He taught nursing at Ashland University and also, worked at the McKinley Health Care Center in Canton, OH. Hellinger currently resides in Perrysville, OH with his wife who is also, a Nurse Practitioner at Kingston of Ashland. They have four children and one grandchild.
