Patient and Caregiver Reunited

Nakeysha (KiKi) Harris returned to work for Kingston Rehab of Perrysburg after working elsewhere for 2 years. It just so happens that on Kiki’s first day back at Kingston she ran into one of her former patients who she cared for at Kingston over 2 years ago. This time, circumstances were much different as the patient who was wheelchair bound when Kiki last saw her was now walking with confidence in the therapy gym.

Kiki and the Patient immediately recognized each other and shared a warm embrace, expressing excitement for how far the patient had come in her recovery. Both were amazed and thankful for the excellent therapy she had received and the incredible strides the woman had taken in her recovery.

Proud of her accomplishments, the two walked out together to the patient’s car as they continued to catch up.

Kiki is an excellent STNA, and it’s moments like these that demonstrate the true compassion that caregivers have.
